Davie Crockett, Daniel Bowie, William Travis, and James Bonham all famous fighters who fought at the Alamo. Texas is a state with a strong combat history. So its only fitting that the UFC invaded its capital Austin, Texas for Ultimate Fight Night Live 22 Marquardt vs. Palhares. just like Crockett, Bowie, Travis andBonham, the UFC went to war.

In the prelims the only stoppage came from Brian Foster over Forrest petz via tko. Yves Edwards, KyleKIngsbury, Dave Branch, Rich Attonito, and Anthony Waldburger all won hard fought unanimous decisions over their opponents.

The first fight on the main card televised on spike was exciting. Cole Miller showed much improved stand-up as he picks up an impressive submission win over Ross Pearson via rear naked choke early in the second round. The second bout was a back and forth brawl between Jim Miller and Gleison Tibau, as Miller picks up the unanimous decision. in the third bout between Efrain Escadero and local Texas fighter CharlesOliveira who sports a record of 13-0 coming into this fight. Efrain was three pounds over the 156 pounds lightweight limit at 159. Oliveira agreed to fight Escadero at the catchweight with 20% of Efrain’s purse going to Charles. the fight was very exciting with bot h fighters swinging for the fences. Oliveira showed great movement and striking while Efrain countered effectively. In the end the the bjj skills of Oliveira was to much for Efrain as he submits him via rear naked choke in the third round.

An now for the fight you’ve came to read about, the main event Nate Marquart versus Rousimar Palhares.Palhares made it obvious he want the fight on the ground as every time Nate would step in to strike he would lower his level. palhares went for a knee bar and Nate easily pulled his leg outta danger and drop hammers on Palhares. Until Herb Dean stepped in and stopped the fight. After the fight Rousimarcomplained that Nate might have “greased” his ankles. The doctors and athletic commission checked his legs and found no grease. Nate Marquardt just put himself back into the title picture with that win overPalhares.
